Hanging Bathroom Vanities
A very common application in bathroom vanities today is the use of hanging the vanities from the wall and therefore suspending them off of the floor. This achieves a very modern look and allows space from the bottom of the bathroom vanity to the floor.
Typically, when a vanity is manufactured this way, we reduce the overall height from 34-5/8″ high by cutting the toe kick off and reducing the height of the bottom drawers. The overall height is typically 24″ and this allows for 10″ clearance from the bottom of the bathroom vanity to the floor. We typically reinforce the back of the vanity with a solid 5/8″ back to lend support as the vanity has nothing to rest on. Your installer should be sure to reinforce the vanity into solid studs as there is an enormous amount of weight that is hanging on the wall.
There are many ways to design a bathroom and with the addition of hanging vanities, your choices can become endless in the way you can design your space that is a reflection of what your style is.
